High-performance thanks to strong and new processor
The Fujifilm X-S20 contains the X-Processor 5, which ensures that the camera is fast and can record video in high resolutions. The X-Processor 5 works together with the Back Side Illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor that has 26.1 megapixels. Another advantage of the strong image processor is that it ensures that you can work with high ISO values, without seeing too much noise in the photos and videos.
The 64-bit processor allows fast bursts (continuous) and RAW sequences without having to wait long for the final result.
Autofocus with AI technology and Deep Learning
The Deep Learning technology ensures that the Fujifilm X-S20 can recognize objects better and better. Out of the box, the camera recognizes and tracks subjects, even when they are not fully in frame. Think of people, eyes, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. Planes and trains are also recognized. The fact that the camera recognizes and follows these subjects is useful during photography, where you mainly want to focus on the frame and the lighting.
Video capability Fujifilm X-S20
With the X-S20, it is possible to film in a maximum resolution of 6.2K and 30 frames per second. This footage can be recorded in 4:2:2 10-bit, which gives you a lot of room during color post-processing. Set the camera to 6K, and you can even record at 60fps, which means that the image can be slowed down by up to two times without loss of quality. For super slow motions, you can put the camera in Full HD to make 120fps recordings.
RAW images
Raw video images can be made when you connect an external recorder. An Atomos recorder can broadcast 12-bit Apple ProRes Raw up to 6.2K and 30fps.
F-Log2 for cinematic look and wide dynamic range
For the largest possible dynamic range, Fujifilm has made F-Log2 available on the X-S20. This flat color profile ensures that you have 13+ stops of dynamic range. This provides additional information in the highlights and shadows, which ensures that you can push the limits in post-processing.
Vlog button
On top of the body is the dial with traditional positions such as A, M and P, but there is now also a function called ‘Vlog’. All settings are set to portrait mode with this function. It ensures that you get a good separation between foreground and background and that the focus is on the subject’s face or eyes. When you’re a product vlogger, the camera makes quick, but smooth, focus pulls between the product you’re showing and the vlogger’s face.
Classic Fujifilm film simulations
Fujifilm’s 19 classic film simulations give the effect of the old film rolls. Simulations such as Nostalgic Neg immediately give the impression that you are photographing or filming on a classic film roll. Some simulations make the colors pop, while others make the photo soft or black and white.
Internal image stabilization
For razor-sharp photos and stable film images, having internal stabilization is not a superfluous luxury. The X-S20’s image stabilization (IBIS) stabilizes on 5-axis and up to 7 stops when an XF-XC lens is used. The stabilization ensures that you can shoot handheld for longer at longer shutter speeds, or that you can film handheld.
Vari-angle touch screen
At the back is a great 3-inch touchscreen that can be fully opened and tilted. This also allows you to see yourself in the selfie position. The screen has a resolution of 1.84 million dots. The electronic viewfinder has a magnification of 0.62 times and a resolution of 1.84 million dots.
Headphone and microphone input
For a more professional production you need good sound and luckily the X-S20 has a dedicated 3.5mm microphone input. This can be used for a wireless or wired microphone. On the other side of the camera is the input for the headphones.
