The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 Mark II mirrorless camera is a classically designed camera with a 24-megapixel full-frame sensor and Hybrid Phase Detection AF system, suitable for both ambitious photographers and videographers. The camera has more than 14 stops of dynamic range and Real Time LUT function. Filming is done with a maximum resolution of 6K 10-bit.

New sensor and Hybrid Phase Detection
The new 24-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor and imaging engine support hybrid phase-detection autofocus, a first for Lumix cameras. The camera uses a Phase Hybrid AF system (PDAF) combined with Contrast Detect AF and has 779 AF points, making it fast and reliable even in difficult conditions such as low light and backlight.
Video recording capabilities
The Panasonic S5II’s mirrorless camera video features are impressive and include internal 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) at 30fps and 4:2:2 C4K and 4K at up to 60fps. Thanks to the new low-profile cooling system, unlimited filming is possible in most resolutions, without the camera overheating. In 6K 30fps and 5.9K 50fps, the camera will stop recording after 30 minutes to prevent overheating. High Frame Rate 120fps recordings are possible, and filming up to 180fps is possible in Slow & Quick recordings.
Picture profiles
The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 Mark II also offers a range of picture profiles and functions such as Real Time LUT, Waveform Monitor, Vector Scope and Zebra Pattern. It is also possible to put LUTs on an SD card, which are immediately loaded on the Camera. To achieve the full dynamic range of 14+ stops, use V-Log/V-gammut.
High quality audio recording
The Lumix S5 II can also record clear 48kHz/24-bit audio with built-in or external microphone, and record in high resolution 96kHz/24-bit with external and XLR microphones.
Burst recordings
The Lumix S5 II is made for fast performance thanks to high-speed burst shooting with up to 9 frames per second mechanically and 30fps electrically (up to 300 frames). The Dual Native ISO sensitivity, which minimizes noise, and a maximum ISO of 51200 (expandable to 204800) make the Lumix S5 II a professional camera for film and photography.
Internal Active I.S. image stabilization
The Lumix S5 II is equipped with an advanced image stabilization system that enables significantly better handheld shooting in various conditions and situations. The new Active I.S. system optimizes horizontal, vertical and rotational correction to deliver highly stable video recordings. This system allows up to 200% more compensation compared to conventional stabilization. Active I.S. is especially effective when shooting handheld with telephoto lenses or while walking.
Excellent results with minimal effort
The Lumix S5 II offers a refined shooting experience that achieves excellent results with minimal effort. This is thanks to features such as AWB Lock, MF Assist (available for stills and video recording up to 60fps, except variable frame rate recording). A new Live Crop function that captures video footage with the entire sensor surface allows post-cropping of 4K and Full HD footage.
Easy operation
User-friendliness has been improved thanks to the new 8-way joystick that is easy to operate. The extensive dial, the 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen and the large OLED Live View Finder with 3,680,000 pixels ensure further easy operation.
Robust and weather resistant design
Although the Panasonic S5 II is light and compact, it remains a robust camera. The camera is made of magnesium alloy and has a splash and dust resistant construction.
